Root & Regulate: A Somatic Breathwork & Embodiment Retreat
By Evolve Breath & Body with Natalie Keany | Arambol, Goa, India
Dates & Location
When: November 18 – 25, 2026
Where: Arambol, North Goa, India (Open-air village rooftop)
The Arambol Vibe: Back to Basics, Close to the Earth
This is not a luxury wellness resort. There are no manicured lawns, air conditioning, or marble floors. Instead, Root & Regulate is a down-to-earth, rustic gathering fully immersed in the rhythm of local Goan village life right in the heart of Arambol.
We gather on an open-air rooftop with natures air conditioning, overlooking local fields where water buffalo roam and eagles soar overhead. It is a simple, no-frills space where travelers, backpackers, seekers, and locals from all over the world come together as equals to breathe, unwind, and reset their nervous systems.
This is designed for the adventurous souls who like freedom, autonomy, authentic travel, a diverse global community, and deep healing without the high price tag. It’s also for those who want to explore a little out of their comfort zone, expand their capacity and experience new things.
Why "Root & Regulate"?
Modern life keeps our nervous systems in a constant state of high alert. This retreat is an affordable, accessible space to gently downshift out of survival mode using two primary pillars:
Root (Grounding): Anchor into your body through gentle somatic movement, self-inquiry, and real, human connection. A reminder of who you truly are beneath the roles you play in daily life. A reminder of the wisdom and the truth that exists within you. A reminder of the infinite potential and possibility available to you. As the common Hindi saying goes… “Sab Kuch Milega”…. meaning…. “Anything is possible”.
Regulate (Calming): Use Conscious Connected Breathwork to discharge accumulated stress, soothe your vagus nerve, and find your inner baseline of calm.
The Daily Flow
Our schedule balances deep therapeutic work with the natural rhythms of Goan life:
Early Morning: 7:30 am - Optional beach stroll, meditation and swim for the early risers, followed by a slow breakfast at a nearby local cafe.
09:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Morning explorations, somatic movement, and grounding practices on the rooftop.
12:30 PM – 03:30 PM: Free time. Afternoons are hot! You have time and space to nap in a shady spot, sample local foods, explore the beaches, and wander the town.
03:30 PM – 05:30 PM: Deep afternoon Conscious Connected Breathwork session.
Evening: Head into the famous Arambol sunset, or spend some time journalling and reflecting. Later, you may want to join for optional group dinners or casual evening activities.
Saturday 21st will be a completely free day for integration or adventure.
6 conscious connected breathwork sessions are included, and are optional. You are encouraged to honour your body and your nervous system. You also have the option to use a nourishing gentle breath as an alternative to conscious connected breathwork.
Local Area
Arambol is the bohemian heart of North Goa. It is a unique global melting pot where traditional Indian village life completely merges with an international community of musicians, yogis, travelers, and healers.
November is widely considered the golden window to experience Arambol. The heavy monsoon rains have completely cleared out, leaving the entire Goan landscape incredibly lush, vibrant, and jungle-green.
It marks the absolute beginning of the season. The local beach shacks, rooftops, and organic cafes are just building their structures and opening their doors. The air feels fresh, the village is waking up and the heavy winter tourist crowds haven't arrived yet
The Sunset Drum Circle: Every evening, people from all over the world naturally gather on Arambol beach for a massive, impromptu sunset drum circle, complete with fire dancers, musicians, and a sunset market.
The Sweet Water Lake: A short, scenic walk past the cliffs at the northern end of Arambol beach brings you to a quiet, fresh-water jungle lagoon right next to the ocean…perfect for a peaceful rinse after a salty swim.
The Food Scene: Because of its global crowd, you can eat a delicious local Goan fish curry at a beach shack for a couple of pounds, then walk down the street to get organic vegan food, fresh juices, Nepalese momo’s, Falafel, pizza, pasta…and many other dishes from around the world.
The Surrounding Neighborhoods & climate
When you have free time, renting a scooter, or taking a local scooter taxi or taxi…gives you easy access to the nearby coastal villages, each with its own distinct personality:
Mandrem and Ashvem (10–15 mins south): If Arambol is wild and bohemian, Mandrem and Ashvem are its quieter, more spacious siblings. These beaches feature wide, flat sand, trendy boutiques, and elegant beachfront cafes.
Siolim and Assagao (20–30 mins south): Located slightly inland, these areas are famous for beautiful heritage Portuguese villas, shaded jungle roads, and some of the best specialty coffee shops and fine-dining restaurants in Goa.
Querim and Keri - The absolute northern tip of Goa. It is a completely untouched, pine-fringed beach that is incredibly quiet and peaceful if you want to escape the village buzz entirely.
Our venue is just 8mins walk to the beach.
The Heat: Expect daytime highs around 32°C (90°F). Because it is a tropical climate, afternoons feel genuinely hot and humid…which is exactly why our daily schedule leaves the middle of the day completely open for napping, swimming, and resting. Once the sun sets, the temperature drops to a comfortable, breezy 23°C–25°C (73°F–77°F). It is perfect for open-air dining and walking around without overheating.
The Rain: The monsoon is entirely over by November. With a slight chance of a stray afternoon shower, meaning you can expect clear blue skies and sun almost every single day.
The Sea: The Arabian Sea is a warm 29°C (84°F), making it ideal for early morning dips or swimming during our afternoon breaks.
