The BioDynamic Breathwork

& Trauma Release System®(BBTRS).

BBTRS is a breathwork modality created by Giten Tonkov of The Biodynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release Institute. BBTRS uses a 6 Element approach to trauma integration. Sound, touch, meditation, breath, emotional release and movement. We use resource to find safety in the body and the external environment. We use titration and pendulation to ensure that the client is never overwhelmed by their experience, simply exploring, releasing and returning to resource.

BBTRS is influenced by Peter Levine’s profound trauma integration work - Somatic Experiencing®, bringing awareness to body movement, sensations, using felt sense and interoception. The BBTRS system works with dissolving areas of physical armouring, and integrating the fight/flight/freeze energy which can become held in the body after a traumatic experience.

One of the fundamentals of the BBTRS is the Willhelm Reich body based therapy which focuses on the 7 belts of tension. There are 7 predominant areas of the body which are prone to holding tension, each belt corresponding with a chakra (energy centre). During a session, Natalie will apply touch and bodywork which will specifically work with these areas of the body, releasing tension, creating space and bringing awareness to the body. You may choose to work with one particular tension area during a session or book a series of sessions in which Natalie will work through each belt, session by session. This work has also been adapted for online sessions. During a session you may experience unusual or involuntary physical sensations as your body begins to release core tension. You may experience emotional release or a deep sense of peace and relaxation. You may start to notice the organic movement of your body in a session, and a new sense of freedom and aliveness.

BBTRS is suitable for most people (please see contraindications) with or without prior experience of breathwork.
